June 2021 Mask Mandate Update

Even though the Governor has dropped the mask mandate for people who are vaccinated, you as a LMT practitioner can still ask your clients to wear a mask in your business. Requiring the wearing of a mask in any business is at the prerogative of any business in Michigan.

When you make your decision, keep in mind that massage therapy involves close contact in close spaces for long periods of time. Our business designs are a far cry from supermarkets and clothing stores, and our work cannot help but cause us to be in proximity. We encourage you to protect yourself first and foremost.

CDC’s Interim Public Health Recommendations for Fully Vaccinated People are directed at individuals and explains that fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing masks or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.
